ICU Nurse (3 Positions) – Mogadishu, Somalia

Position: Darusalam Hospital ICU Nurse (3 Positions)

Reporting to: Unit Supervisor/Medical Director

Regular working hours: As per contract

Job Summary:

The duties is caring for the patients coming into our facility include tasks like creating and maintaining accurate patient records, administering medication and monitoring for side effects, recording vital signs, and reporting symptoms and changes in patient conditions.

Major Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
Providing immediate assistant to the patients who need (Cannulation, Stop bleeding, Vital Measurement etc.)
Assisting any doctors if there is language barrier between doctors and patients.
Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
If needed, respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors.
Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
Given medication as prescribed.
Administering intravenous and non-intravenous medications.
Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses if ordered so.
Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
Restores and promotes patient’s health by completing the nursing process.
Maintaining nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Skills

Excellent in Phlebotomy/ venipuncture
Excellent in Nasogastric intubation
Excellent in Urinary catheters intubation
Office skills including personal computer, Microsoft products (Word for Windows and Excel), ability to operate other office equipment machines (copier, credit card machine, telephone, and adding machine) necessary to perform the cashiering duties.
Speaking Arabic or/and English languages is added value.
Excellent verbal communication skills.

Experience

Minimum 2 year experience related to the position
Experience in emergency room or intensive care
Experience in Neonatal Care
Experience in Progressive Care Nursing
