Muslim Aid Somalia is seeking a Safeguarding and protection officer.

 Summary of the role:

Based in Somalia Afgoye, the of Head of programs will lead the safeguarding function and align departmental and organisational strategy. This role will perform advanced level, professional Safeguarding work as a key component of the Muslim Aid corporate child safeguarding, protection policy and procedure.

About the Role:

The post holder will develop and direct a comprehensive sageguarding plan relationships with CEC members, parent’s/care givers, Teachers, school heads, Students and the Child Protection Cluster and safeguarding activities across Muslim Aid.Build strong

The main responsibilities of this role will be to:

1. Implement the MA child safeguarding and protection policy and procedures.
2. Encourage good practice by promoting and championing the child safeguarding and protection policy and procedures
3. Report and Challenge behaviour which breaches the child safeguarding and protection Code of Conduct.
4. Maintain confidential records of reported cases and action taken.
5. Monitor and review the child safeguarding and protection policy and procedures to ensure they remain current and fit for in- country purpose. 

About You:

This role is based in Somalia and open to individuals with unrestricted right to live and work in Somalia. At this stage we are unable to offer sponsorship opportunities.

To be successful in this role:

• You will be an exceptional experienced and qualified safeguarding and protection with a minimum 2+ years post qualification experience.
• Educated to Diploma in Education. Psychology/Sociology-Social Protection- Child Protection or related fields.
• Degree in Education, Psychology/Sociology-Child Protection or related fields
• Proven experience of Child safeguarding and protection issues, handling children’s cases and engaging children
• Understanding of project cycle/development of projects/programs in terms design, implementation and monitoring
• Proven experience and knowledge of handling cases of children affected by School Based Violence, GBV and other harmful practices against the female child.
